Breaking: Raynham's Finest Take a Stand for Mental Wellness This May

Mental Health Awareness: Turning Understanding into Action
Every May, National Mental Health Month shines a spotlight on mental wellness, challenging societal perceptions and encouraging personal and collective growth. For 2025, Mental Health America has chosen a powerful theme: Turn Awareness into Action.
This year's initiative goes beyond simply recognizing mental health challenges. It calls on individuals to transform understanding into meaningful change, breaking down long-standing barriers and stigmas surrounding mental health conditions.
The Stark Reality
The statistics are eye-opening: Nearly 20% of American adults experience a diagnosable mental health condition annually, and a staggering 46% will face such a challenge during their lifetime. Even more concerning, more than half—54.7% of these individuals—do not receive any mental health treatment.
How You Can Make a Difference
- Take a mental health screening to understand your own well-being
- Get certified in Mental Health First Aid
- Support friends and family experiencing mental health challenges
- Educate yourself and others about mental health resources
By taking action, we can create a more supportive, understanding, and compassionate society.
