Breaking Barriers: LGBTI Minorities Claim Their Right to Healthcare Equality

In a collaborative effort to amplify the voices of marginalized communities, ILGA World partnered with 10 member organizations to shed light on the critical health challenges faced by LGBTI individuals from racially marginalized groups. By strategically engaging with the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD), the organizations sought to highlight the intersectional barriers and systemic inequities that disproportionately impact LGBTI people of color.
Through this powerful advocacy initiative, the coalition aimed to draw international attention to the complex health disparities and discriminatory practices that continue to undermine the well-being of racially diverse LGBTI communities. Their comprehensive submission to the CERD Committee underscored the urgent need for comprehensive, inclusive healthcare policies and targeted interventions that address the unique challenges faced by these vulnerable populations.
